PARIS, Feb 27 — Simon Porte Jacquemus is launching his own line of menswear.

The French designer made the announcement at his Autumn/Winter 2018 womenswear catwalk show in Paris last night, WWD reports. The creative took his post-show bow wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt with the words "New job L’Homme Jacquemus” emblazoned across the chest, ending weeks of speculation fuelled by his regular Instagram updates teasing a "special announcement” and a "#newjob.”

"I see the Jacquemus man as I see the Jacquemus woman, it’s my own story and emotions — all that inside a collection,” Jacquemus told WWD. According to the site, the new collection will be unveiled in June, during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.

Since being founded in 2010, Jacquemus the label has risen to prominence within the industry, thanks to its poetic, experimental approach to ready-to-wear. His AW18 womenswear collection was inspired by a recent trip to Morocco, with the designer revealing on Instagram: "This winter, I got lost in the souks again, with just one thing on my mind: I want to make it my next summer collection. I came back to Paris and made my winter of it; my winter collection. Not wasting anymore time, my warm winter.” — AFP-Relaxnews
