NEW YORK, Jan 18 — Adidas has announced the launch of its latest Adidas x Parley swimwear collection, enlisting the help of Olympic swimmer Coralie Balmy.
The new SS18 collection is part of Adidas’s ongoing partnership with Parley, which aims to educate the next generation of swimmers on how we can help to conserve and protect our oceans.
As part of this conservation the sustainable range uses Econyl®, a recycled thread made from common threats to our oceans, such as fishnets and debris, which can then be turned into a range of performance swimwear.
To update the collection for the new season Adidas looked to former 200m freestyle (short course) World Record holder and ecologist Coralie Balmy to help create designs and colourways inspired by her work as a marine biologist.
Balmy’s experience as an Olympic swimmer ensured that the new collection would offer swimmers ultimate performance, with new cuts such as a higher neckline and mid-leg offering a flattering and comfortable fit, while her work with the oceans inspired the blue colour palette of the new collection.
Also new for this season are swimming trunks and boxers for men, with Adidas hoping that as the collection expands the wider range of silhouettes will appeal to a wider range of swimmers, offering options for all levels and for a variety of training regimes.
The SS18 Adidas x Parley swim range is available now for both men and women on Adidas.com/swimming and in Adidas retail stores worldwide. — AFP-Relaxnews
