BASEL, March 24 — Connected watches have never been more in fashion, with Tory Burch, Diesel and DKNY just some of the brands debuting their latest smart accessories at Baselworld 2017.

US label Tory Burch is making its debut into the wearable tech market for the 2017 Holiday season with its new Collins Hybrid Smartwatch — a revamped version of its classic Collins timepiece. The watch, which is compatible with iPhone and Android phones, offers features such as sleep and activity tracking, notification technology for calls, texts or emails, and link technology for easy smartphone connection. It will become available later in the year.

Diesel, meanwhile, has been busy working on its first-ever line of touchscreen smartwatches, named the Diesel On, after introducing hybrid smartwatches and trackers to its catalogue for Fall 2016. Its new series of moto-inspired, full-screen smartwatches feature seven customisable dial options, with users able to play around with visual enhancements such as "cracked screen” and weather filters. The watches will offer Google Assistant features, Google Fit workout experiences and eight different customizable straps. The Diesel On will launch for the 2017 Holiday season.

Additional brands breaking into the wearables space include DKNY, which is set to unveil its Minute Hybrid Smartwatch for the 2017 Holiday season during Baselworld, and Marc Jacobs, which will introduce the Riley Hybrid Smartwatch for this fall. Michael Kors is also expanding its line-up, with the addition of the new Access Sofie and Access Grayson touchscreen models.

The 2017 edition of the high-profile watch and jewellery trade show Baselworld will run through March 30 in Basel, Switzerland. — AFP-Relaxnews
