Yayoi Kusama retrospective to open at National Gallery Singapore in June

SINGAPORE, March 17 — Get ready to queue, art fans.

Yayoi Kusama will be holding her first major exhibition in South-east Asia at the National Gallery Singapore in June.

The exhibition, titled Yayoi Kusama: Life Is the Heart of a Rainbow, will run from June 10 to September 3, 2017.

According to Singapore’s Straits Times, more than 120 of her artworks spanning seven decades will go on display.

It is understood that new works will also premiere at the Singapore show.

The grand dame of Japanese avant-garde is one of the world’s most influential artists. She is known for her psychedelic pieces featuring polka dots, mirrors and pumpkins.

Admission prices have not been released at time of writing.
