NEW YORK, Dec 7 — The 1990s are having a moment right now, and one of the decade’s most famous supermodels is taking the opportunity to launch a new beauty brand.
Model Patricia Hartmann is launching Runway Rogue, a cosmetics collection inspired by her fashion career, on December 8.
The 20-piece collection focuses on the lips — Hartmann’s trademark model trait in her heyday. It comprises a series of creamy lipsticks in matte and satin finishes, rich glosses and matte lip liner pencils, priced from US$18 to US$21 (RM80 to RM93). Colours range from bold reds and purples to more muted pink and nude tones. The products are free of parabens, talc, sulfates and gluten, and are being marketed as cruelty free.
"My favourite aspect of modelling remains the same as it was when I was a little girl: I simply love the makeup,” says Hartmann. She adds: "I see makeup as a gateway to experimentation, creative expression, and confidence to pursue the life you want to live.”
After being discovered in her native Germany as a teenager, Hartmann went on to grace the covers of Vogue Italia, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle Magazine, among many others. She took to the catwalk for fashion houses including Chanel, Christian Dior, Fendi and Dolce & Gabbana and was signed up as the face of Maybelline and L’Oreal.
Hartmann is not the only ex-supermodel making a move on the beauty industry — in November, Linda Evangelista was unveiled as the Vice President and Creative Director of anti-aging skincare brand Erasa.
