SINGAPORE, Dec 3 — Zouk Singapore will host its last party at Jiak Kim Street tonight.
The superclub, which has occupied the riverside premises since March 1991, will be reopening at its new location in Clarke Quay on December 17.
Zouk has held a series of parties in the build-up to this moment, beginning on November 23 with a final TGIW (Thank God It’s Wednesday), followed by Readyset Glo on November 25 and a classic Mambo Jambo on November 30.
Tonight’s party is expected to draw a 4,000-strong crowd all eager to celebrate the club’s long and colourful history.
It’s understood that Zouk has invited all their current DJs and alumni DJs to attend, but who will take the decks is not known at the time of writing.
Zouk was set up by Lincoln Cheng who announced in October 2015 that Genting Hong Kong (GHK) had acquired the iconic club.
In addition, GHK acquired Zouk’s major trademarks and the annual dance music festival ZoukOut. Zouk’s Kuala Lumpur club was excluded from the terms of agreement.
Over the years, Zouk Singapore has regularly been ranked among the best clubs in the world and is often named by international DJs as one of their favourite clubs to play at.
