BATON ROUGE, Aug 14 — The video of a man jumping into the water to rescue a woman and a dog trapped in a sinking car during heavy floods in Baton Rouge, Louisiana has gone viral.
In the video, several people on a boat approached a rapidly sinking car telling the woman inside to get out, but she was trapped and unable to free herself.
The woman called out, "I’m gonna die, I’m drowning,” as they worked to free her.

Three men attempted to get her out, trying to break the window with a long metal rod, but failed as the car sank further into the water.
Most of the car was underwater at this point when one of the rescuers managed to pry the roof of the car open and jumped into the water to pull the woman out of the car as it finally disappeared under the water.
Although she was safe, the woman was worried about her dog, calling out, "Get my dog, get my dog now!”, she attempted to go underwater while another rescuer threw a floatation device to help them swim.
Her rescuer made an attempt to find the dog, failing at first, but managed to grab the pooch from the car, telling her, "I got your dog!” as he held on the white canine.
He then told her to float to the boat to where the other rescuers were waiting to grab them from the water, helping both the dog and her owner to safety.
