LONDON, July 20 — Ladies (and some guys), this one’s for you: Say hello to Mr World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal.
Rohit became the first Indian to bag the title during the grand finale which was held at the Southport Theatre & Convention Centre in Southport, UK.
The aspiring actor beat 46 other dashing hunks for the title with Fernando Alberto Alvarez Soto of Puerto Rico coming in second and Aldo Esparza Ramirez of Mexico in third place.
"I feel so privileged and humbled to be Mr World 2016. I would like to thank all my fans and all the people who have been giving me all their blessings. It is only your love and support that has been my inspiration to win Mr World 2016. It has been an amazing journey to this point, and I cannot wait to see what happens next,” Rohit was quoted as saying on the pageant’s official website.
A description on the pageant’s official website describes it "unlike conventional Male ‘Beauty Pageants’, Mr World is a two to three week competition designed to test the candidates in a variety of ways through a series of challenge events, interviews and a final stage show. These challenges test every aspect deemed necessary to be ‘The World’s Most Desirable Man’.”
