SHANGHAI, March 21 — It looks like June 16, 2016 is going to be a huge day for the city of Shanghai.
Not only will it mark the opening of the eagerly anticipated Shanghai Disneyland Park, it will also be the day the world’s largest Lego retail store debuts in the Chinese city.
And making it even more convenient is the fact that the 1,000 square-metre “first flagship Lego store in all of Asia” will be located in Disneytown, a new shopping, eating and entertainment district found just outside the main park.
According to various media reports, the store will feature interactive indoor and outdoor play areas as well as giant Lego models.
However, the Danish toy giant isn’t done quite yet with its world domination efforts yet.
A 3,000-square-metre Legoland Discovery Centre is set to open in Shanghai’s Parkside Plaza on April 2.
