NEW YORK, Dec 1 — Ultra-sophisticated and very discreet despite her impressive CV, Toni Garrn, 23, has been chosen by the luxury house Elie Saab to replace Anja Rubik as the face of its signature perfume. This young German is well-loved and sought after by the very select luxury and couture worlds, but she is less well known to the general public. Let’s have a look at the career so far of this blue-eyed blonde with statuesque proportions.

Elie Saab does not have a lot of ambassadors for its products, and is even less interested in models or celebrities known for creating buzz. This can be seen in its attachment to the Polish top model Anja Rubik, who has been the face of Elie Saab’s two iconic perfumes for several years. Rubik has recently made way for Toni Garrn, who has now become the famous Lebanese fashion designer’s muse.

A meteoric rise

Is it because she experienced success at a very young age that Toni Garrn has been able to keep a certain distance from the world of glitz and glitter while remaining in demand as a model? It’s hard to say, but it’s clear that she is one of the most discreet models of her generation. While active on social media, she does not try to make headlines with statements designed to shock or sexy photos. Instead, she opts for sophisticated and refined outfits with an emphasis on simplicity.

Born in Germany, Toni Garrn travelled a lot with her parents before being spotted by a model agency at the age of 13. At only 16 she signed an exclusive deal with Calvin Klein, for whom she did catwalk work. The brand trusts her and has also featured her in ad campaigns for several of its lines.

At the end of this partnership, she was even more in demand, doing runway shows and ad campaigns for the biggest luxury firms, although she was not yet 18. In 2009, she was photographed in ad campaigns for Hugo Boss, Prada, Fendi, Chloé, Emporio Armani, Etro, Versace, Donna Karan, Zara, Burberry, and Dior Eyewear. The same year saw her doing runway work in the four fashion capitals of the world, sealing her reputation as a top model.

Magazines, famous photographers, and ambassador contracts

From 2009 onwards, Toni Garrn attracted the attention of the biggest names and talents from the ready-to-wear, couture and cosmetics worlds. She graced the front cover of major magazines, including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Numéro, Elle and Glamour, and renowned photographers such as Steven Meisel and Mario Testino were eager to immortalize her natural beauty.

Toni Garrn has also featured on the very exclusive list of models who have done catwalk work for the Victoria’s Secret lingerie brand.

At the age of 23, this slim blonde is still very much in the limelight and in demand with the biggest luxury houses. However, she no longer takes on a large number of contracts but rather tastefully and intelligently selects the brands for which she does ad campaign and runway work. This is not the first time she has worked with Elie Saab, as she was chosen to wear the traditional wedding dress during the catwalk show for the brand’s Autumn-Winter 2011 haute couture collection. That same show was opened by Anja Rubik. This new partnership with Elie Saab is therefore likely to last some time. — AFP-Relaxnews
