NEW YORK, Nov 24 — Move over, Pizza Rat; there’s a new publicity-loving rodent in New York — and his name is Selfie Rat.

According to NY Daily News, a Connecticut man called Don Richards was visiting the Big Apple recently when he watched an unnamed man who’d fallen asleep on a subway platform in Brooklyn receive a rude awakening from a rat that decided to crawl up on him.

In a video shot by Richards, the startled man can be seen jumping up and dropping his phone as he brushes the rat off his lap.

But the story doesn’t end there.

Apparently, the rat managed to snap a selfie with the man’s camera.

In fact, it was the flash from the picture that woke him up.

The man then found the close-up shot of the rat’s snout on his camera roll, which you can see above.

You could call it the Kim Kardashian effect.
