Knight will be honored for his outstanding contribution to the global fashion industry at the ceremony taking place this November, the British Fashion Council has announced.

Since kicking off his career in 1982 with the publication of his first book, “Skinheads”, Knight has created some of fashion’s most iconic images, collaborating with designers such as Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and Yohji Yamamoto.

His most recent headline-grabbing work includes shooting Tom Ford’s Spring/Summer 2016 runway presentation featuring Lady Gaga, as well as directing the music video for Kanye West’s “Bound 2” featuring Kim Kardashian. In August this year, he unveiled “Lee Alexander McQueen, 1969 - 2010: Fashion Film - Nick Knight / Edward Enninful / Alexander McQueen”, a short film composed from unused and unseen footage from Knight’s collaborations with Alexander McQueen to honor the late designer.

Knight’s high-fashion campaigns include advertorials for Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Lancôme, Swarovski, and Yves Saint Laurent, among others.

He has seen his work regularly published in i-D, V Magazine, Vogue and W magazines and has been exhibited at galleries and institutions including the Tate Modern and Victoria & Albert Museum.

In 2000, he launched his online platform “SHOWstudio”, with the aim of exposing “the entire creative process from conception to completion.”

Previous winners of the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator include stylist Edward Enninful (2014), writer Lady Amanda Harlech (2013) and Professor Louise Wilson OBE (2012).
