SAINT HUBERT (Belgium), Nov 9 — They say all dogs go to heaven.

Here in Saint Hubert, Belglium, they’re getting a doggie blessing one woof at a time.

It’s part of the celebration for Saint Hubert himself, the patron saint of hunters, who called for the for protection of dogs.

Priest Philippe Goosse says a tradition that began here has been exported across the globe.

Goosse said, “There have since been blessings taking place all over the world, but the beginning is here.”

Dog lovers say the blessing was a spiritual experience.

And moving on from holy water ... rescuers freed a whale and her calf that were trapped in shark net off the coast of Norah Head, Australia.

For hours they worked to free the pair, in what lifeguard Scott Higgins says was a terrifying experience.

“One minute I’m talking to the other life guards and then the next minute there’s a giant tail flying towards me. It’s the most intimidating thing I’ve ever dealt with in my life,” said Higgins.

And a little levity for the the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall during their tour of New Zealand.
