NEW YORK, Sept 22 —The world’s largest treehouse is a childhood dream come true.
Seeker Stories recently shed light on minister Horace Burgess’ 97-foot-tall treehouse, located in Crossville, Tennessee. The gigantic structure is supported by an 80-foot tall white oak tree, and six other different trees. It is four-stories high, contains 80 rooms, a mini basketball court, and a bell tower!
It took Burgess — who said he was commanded by God to build the treehouse — US$12,000 (RM51,249) and 14 years to complete construction of the structure, with the treehouse now a legend and popular tourist attraction in recent years.
While Burgess’ treehouse was closed to public access in 2012 for violating safety codes, a petition is circulating to have it reopened.
