NEW YORK, Sept 3 — Street style photographer Tommy Ton has launched his own website, TommyTon.com, which officially went live yesterday, Fashionista.com reported.
The launch of his new site also means that he will be covering the upcoming spring 2016 shows independently.
In an interview, Ton told Business of Fashion, that the website will feature more than 15,000 of his signature street style snaps from the past 10 years.
The archive will include new, exclusive images, as well as those previously published on the aforementioned sites, he added.
It is understood that visitors will be able to sort snaps by colour, brand, trend and even subject.
Ton added that the site would eventually encompass more than just street style imagery, incorporating original interviews, editorials and videos, as well as more runway and backstage photography.
The 31-year-old Canadian first burst onto the scene in 2005, and he is widely credited as being one of the pioneers of street style photography, first for his former blog, Jak & Jil, then Style.com and GQ.com.
In September, he announced that he would be ending his six-year tenure at Style.com, following Condè Nast’s plans to transform the fashion site into an eCommerce platform.
