KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 — Preparations for the National Day celebrations are already underway and here’s a heart-warming clip that tugs at our patriotic strings and reminds us to stand united.

The brainchild of The Ming Thing, “Janji Kita Tahu (As Long As We Know)” sees four friends relate to the hate, racism and misdirected news around them — and how they come to realise that what matters at the end of the day is how they see themselves: As united Malaysians.

According to a Facebook posting by The Ming Thing, “Nowadays, we read so much news about races not getting along. But honestly, I’m sure we all have friends or know people from different races. So do we believe everything we read or see online?

They go on to remind us that, “But with all the negativity around now, we thought we'd remind everyone what really matters. Here’s our Merdeka special for this year! Selamat Hari Merdeka in advance, saudara SeMalaysiaku!”

Selamat Hari Merdeka indeed!
