NEW YORK, Aug 19 — That phone you supposedly can't live without can be a real pain in the neck — literally.

Text neck is a health condition caused by excessive texting and overuse of handheld devices like cell phones and even computers as that explained in this BuzzFeed video.

Looking down at your phone repeatedly can cause pain in the neck, back, shoulders, arms and hands. It can also cause headaches, numbness and premature arthritis.

But there are ways to be a smarter user of your smart device and it’s all up to you. After all, if you can’t put the phone down, at least remember to keep your head in an upright position!
