NEW YORK, Aug 13 — Any animal that can change colours and look in two directions at once is worth learning more about.

Yes, chameleons are seriously cool creatures and this stunning new clip from National Geographic highlights these and other unique attributes within the chameleon family. There are apparently 202 different species ranging in colour and size.

Scientists have also realised that their technicolor skin isn’t primarily used to blend but it’s actually "mostly for communication". It’s also interesting to note that their tongues actually function like a bow, using a spring-loaded system of bone, elastic tissue and muscle to snatch prey at 13 miles per hour.
