LONDON, July 9 — A minion-crazy couple had a blockbuster of a wedding when they said “I do” surrounded by the tiny yellow cartoon characters from “Despicable Me” and, most recently, their own prequel, “Minions”.

Instead of having a run-of-the-mill themed wedding, Sam Finan and Bob Thomas, went all out and made sure everything was according to theme from the bridesmaid’s dresses right to their wedding cake.

Finan told the North-West Evening Mail that the theme “spiralled out of control” but absolutely had to happen after her fiancé got a tattoo of a Minion bride and groom on his leg.

The Minions themselves also made an appearance at the event, which took place at Cheques Hotel in Dalton-in-Furness while the day kicked off with the bride’s wedding car pulling up at the venue with a Minion teddy attached.

Tables, confetti and placeholders also featured the animated characters, while balloons and decorations at the reception were white, yellow and blue.

Both the bride and groom had been married before, so they wanted to make it extra special this time and share their sense of humour in the big day — making this wedding truly one in a minion!
