SAITAMA, Feb 5 — Zookeepers at Japan’s Tobu Zoo in Saitama, are proudly showing off the zoo’s latest additions ... four rare white tiger cubs.
The cubs were born to white tigers Rocky and Carla.
White tigers are believed to be part of the Bengal tiger family, but have a pigmentation variation. There are less than 200 in the world today, due mostly to the fact that the tigers aren’t able to survive in the wild since they don’t blend in with their surroundings.
The cubs at Tobu Zoo, who have been separated from the father for the initial weaning period, haven’t made their public debut yet. The zoo expects to name them and show them off to visitors in person, sometime in April. — Reuters
