PARIS, Jan 28 — Fendi Casa has officially launched its 2014 collection at the Maison&Objet design fair in Paris, mixing Italian opulence with a classic Park Avenue aesthetic dashed with accents of traditional British bourgeois design.

A new collaboration with the architect and designer Thierry Lemaire has seen an eclectic and chic new range comprising the Star coffee table and the Artù chair and sofa. The collection blends clean, strong lines with luxurious fabrics, including fur cushions made with the same material as the fashion house's runway pieces.

Toan Nguyen has also extended his contemporary Cocoon range for the design house, incorporating a high-backed loveseat and sofa into the line. The designer has also created Pierre, a low square coffee table featuring concave legs and a round base.

The Italian brand's haute-couture aesthetic has been translated to its latest interiors range through the use of ebony woods and marble table tops. Fabrics include ‘ruined' jacquards — a tribute to Venetian design, matte leathers buffed to give a cashmere effect, and the aforementioned sumptuous furs.

New colour palettes include soft French blues and deep burgundies against a soothing palette of plush greys, bronzes and quartzes. Textures are varied, ranging from an innovative two-tone cubed pattern that gives a 3D effect to metallic sheens.

The Fendi Casa collection will be on display at Maison&Objet through January 28. — AFP-Relaxnews
