LONDON, Sept 25 — The famed British designer has teamed up with the homegrown accessories specialist to celebrate its fifth anniversary.

Available in the Cambridge Satchel Company and Vivienne Westwood stores from October, the two companies’ collaboration consists of a new line of exclusive leather bags examples of which were first spied at the Vivienne Westwood Red Label show during London Fashion Week.

The Cambridge Satchel Company was created when founder Julie Deane was looking to create a business to pay for her child’s school fees, and the bags exploded in popularity when they were spotted on the arms of fashionistas like Lily Cole and Alexa Chung.

The accessories are now stocked in luxury department stores Harrods, Selfridges, Bloomingdales and Harvey Nichols, as well being sold worldwide from the brand’s own website.

“We’ve brought back a quintessential British bag back into fashion and so when we thought about a dream British brand to work with on an anniversary range, Westwood was the most obvious choice for a collaboration and to keep the brand moving in a fashion direction,” Deane told WWD.

There are three color options: yellow and black, brown and black, and a white and red squiggle pattern, and the bags come in two sizes, a 14-inch model which will go for US$314 (RM1,012) or and 11-inch option for US$266. — AFP/Relaxnews
