PARIS, May 16 ― Parisian tea salon and pastry house Angelina, famous for its hot chocolate and chestnut-flavoured Mont Blanc pastry, has revealed aggressive expansion plans that include markets in the US, Asia and the Middle East.

Set to open in early 2019, Angelina will make its American debut in New York, where macaron-house Ladurée has set up shop since 2011.

The century-old pastry house Angelina has a long history in Paris, particularly among the Parisian aristocracy, with customers that included literary giant Marcel Proust and Coco Chanel.

Next, plans are afoot to expand their presence in China with 40 points of sale over the next five years, notably with locations in Shanghai and Shenzhen.

And in the Middle East, the brand will expand their existing presence across the region, which currently includes the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Kuwait.

Overall, the plan is to increase the number of Angelina shops and points of sale from 28 to 80 in five years. ― AFP-Relaxnews
