AMSTERDAM, Dec 13 — Five Netherlands restaurants have been awarded their first Michelin star, in the publisher’s new 2017 guide.

Three of the eateries — RIJKS, MOS, and Bolenius — are located in Amsterdam, while the remaining two — Noble and Cucina del Modo — can be found in Bois-le-Duc and Heerlen respectively.

The guide, which goes on sale this week, features 688 restaurants in total, of which 106 are starred. The country’s two three-starred addresses, De Librije in Zwollen and De Leest in Vaassen, have maintained their accolade, while one new eatery, Tribeca in Heeze, has been awarded two stars. A total of 134 budget restaurants have also been awarded the ‘Bib Gourmand’ distinction.

The 2017 Michelin Guide Netherlands will be available to purchase for €21.95 in the Netherlands and Belgium and €21.33 in Luxembourg, from December 15. — AFP-Relaxnews
