SINGAPORE, Oct 20 — TripAdvisor has announced its Travellers’ Choice awards for top restaurants around the world yesterday. Among the top 10 restaurants in Asia is Singapore’s Restaurant Andre that secured fourth place.

More interestingly, the world’s largest travel site also disclosed Singapore’s top cheap eats for the first time. Taking the number one spot is Old Airport Road Centre, followed by Indian Muslim eatery Zam Zam in Arab Street and Komala Villas Restaurant.

Here is the top 10 list:

1. Old Airport Rd Food Centre. This 40-year-old hawker centre "houses the highest number of locally-renowned favourites compared to any other food centres in Singapore.”

2. Zam Zam. Apparently tourists really dig its crispy murtabak.

3. Komala Villas Restaurant: TripAdvisor cited that this surprise entry is highly-rated for its warm service.

4. Chinatown Complex: With 250 food stall, there’s plenty to keep tourists fed at "an affordable price”.

5. Makansutra Glutton's Bay: We’re not surprised since this spot has a great view of Marina Bay.

7. Food Republic @ Wisma Atria

8. Ya Kun Kaya Toast @ China Square

10. Satay By The Bay — TODAY
