MALACCA, Jan 18 — Well-known singer Datuk Khatijah Ibrahim, who owns Khadijah’s Kitchen Sdn Bhd, plans to expand her restaurant business to Los Angeles soon.

Speaking to reporters after the opening of her outlet in Banda Hilir, she said was discussing with relevant authorities in Los Angeles to facilitate the opening of her first overseas outlet.

“We have been offered to open Khadijah’s Kitchen in Los Angeles and this is a good opportunity to expand outside the country,” she said.

Khatijah said they were looking for a suitable location.

Khadijah’s Kitchen in Banda Hilir adds to outlets in Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam. A fourth will open mid-February in Port Dickson.

Khatijah has also been approached to produce all sorts of food paste, including for soups, to penetrate the halal market in the United States.

“We produce 14 different types of paste for the local and international market,” she said, adding that she was working with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation to market the product. — Bernama
