KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 — Taiwanese food lovers now can enjoy and fulfill their craving at Malaysia's first Taiwan food shop at Mid Valley Megamall Kuala Lumpur.
Jimrosa (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd director Willy Seah said there were 300 different kinds of Taiwanese food in various eye-catching packages ranging from sauces, noodles, snacks, cookies, candies, jellies, brewed beverages, tea, spices, nuts, to gift boxes available in the shop.
“All of the food available here are high quality imported products from Taiwan and we offer these at very reasonable prices ranging from RM3 up to RM60 and we also offer seasonal food from time to time,” he said at the launching of the shop here today.
Also present were Taipei Economic and Cultural Office deputy representative in Malaysia, Moses Cheng Shyang-Yun and Taiwan Trade Centre director, Jessie Tseng.
Seah said Taiwanese food were well-known as healthy food, besides having good taste, making it suitable for everyone while 90 percent of those available in the store are categorised as vegetarian and organic foods.
“We understand the majority of Malaysia's community are Muslims and we are in the process of getting halal certification for all of the vegetarian and organic foods,” he said.
He said one of the all time favourites that everybody should try from the store are pineapple cakes, ginger tea, millet mochi and mini jellies which are also well-known as Taiwan's iconic foods.
Meanwhile Jessie Tseng was optimistic of Malaysia's encouraging demand for Taiwanese food and hoped that these delectable food could reach more people's taste buds.
“Taiwanese food has become popular and always a main choice of souvenirs for tourists who visit Taiwan but now Malaysians can buy all their favourite food by simply stopping at this shop,” she said.
Jimrosa Taiwan Foods Shop is owned by Jimrosa (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, which is Malaysia's main importer of Taiwanese foods. — Bernama
