Michelin star-studded dinner to honour Paul Bocuse

LYON (France), Jan 25 — For one night in a couple of days, a group of some of the top chefs in the world, representing a blindingly bright constellation of 250 Michelin stars, will gather in Lyon to honour a man considered one of the fathers of modern French gastronomy, chef Paul Bocuse.

The Diner des Grands Chefs du Monde (Dinner of World’s Great Chefs), led by Daniel Boulud, will be themed around “The Americas”.

A brigade of chefs from some of the hottest restaurants across the two continents, including Normand Laprise of Toqué in Montreal and Gaston Acurio of Astrid & Gaston in Peru, will crowdsource their talents to host a multi-course dinner for guests and fellow chef colleagues.

The guest list features 150 chefs from five continents, including culinary heavyweights such as Alain Ducasse, Eric Fréchon, Thomas Keller and Hiroyuki Hiramatsu.

Collectively, the chefs in attendance will represent 250 Michelin stars.

The star-studded gala dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, the final day of the Bocuse d’Or.

The culinary competition is considered the Olympics of the food world in which 24 countries enter a real-life kitchen stadium and vie for the gold medal. — AFP-Relaxnews
