KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 ― This Saturday, get your Liege waffles from the newly-opened Madame Waffle at Level 3, Mid Valley Megamall.

As an opening special, Madame Waffle will be giving out free waffles to the first 150 customers, while stocks last. The special deal is only available this Saturday and Sunday.

The Japanese-style quick service cafe serves Liege waffles. These smaller-in-size waffles have a dense, chewier and crispier texture.

It's made from yeasted dough, which is spotted with a special type of imported pearl sugar. When cooked on the hot waffle iron, the ball-like sugar will caramelise to create pockets of crunchy and sweet tasting bits.

According to Madame Waffle's Facebook page, they will be serving six flavours ― original, matcha, chocolate, white chocolate, honey and cinnamon.

Madame Waffle recommends that their waffles be paired with a cup of coffee. They have sourced for a special Arabica beans blend from “M” Espresso Sporting Club Roasters in Johor Baru.

The baristas at the cafe have also been trained by Chye Yuan Feng who owns the roastery. Chye is said to be an award-winning barista who was the 2013 Aeropress championship.

In the past month, visitors to Mid Valley City have been treated to free deals as part of opening promotions. When the first Magnum Cafe in Malaysia opened its doors on November 14, it offered their first 500 customers a chance to score their free customised ice-cream.

People stood in line for hours just to get their first taste of the Make My Magnum ice-cream. Over at The Gardens Mall, the first 200 customers at Juiceee sampled free drinks on November 21 and 22, as part of their grand opening promotion. There was an overwhelming response and the drinks were sold out within 35 minutes!
