PETALING JAYA, Nov 30 ― TC Subaru Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in Malaysia today launched the all-new Subaru XV at their headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

This is the 2nd generation of the Subaru XV since its initial launch in 2013, and although the overall silhouette remains very similar to the original, the new Subaru XV is actually built on Subaru’s new Global Platform, which is shared with the WRX. The XV is the second Subaru vehicle to adopt this platform, which promises more torsional rigidity, which in turn translates into better driving dynamics in addition to improved NVH.

The new XV gets a refined version of the 2.0 litre naturally aspirated boxer engine, now with direct injection, and 156 PS at 6,000 rpm, and 196Nm of torque. As usual, Subaru continues to offer Symmetrical AWD with X Mode, through a revamped CVT. We also understand that the CVT software has been re-tuned to provide shorter shift cycles. Paddle-shifters are standard issue for both the variants on offer.

"The All-New Subaru XV is a bold statement that will cater to Malaysians who require the practical and functional features of a SUV for their everyday activities” said Reza Mutalib, Head of Regional Marketing, Motor Image Enterprises Pte Ltd. "We are thrilled to launch this new generation XV built on the new Subaru Global Platform, which delivers less shake and less body roll, and way more fun. The first generation XV was very well received and we are confident that the All-New Subaru XV will be the perfect driving partner for Malaysians, whether it is in daily traffic or out-of-town escapades.”

The All-New Subaru XV features a distinctive rugged and sporty design that incorporates Subaru’s new DYNAMIC x SOLID design philosophy. The exterior features Subaru’s iconic hexagonal grille with C-shaped headlights, matte-black cladding on the front bumper and a new aluminium wheel design. Steering Responsive Headlights (for 2.0i-P only) are also fitted on the All-New Subaru XV which will allow the headlight beam to move according to the direction of how the car is steered, maximising visibility in the dark and safety.

In addition to Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, the All-New Subaru XV now comes equipped with X-MODE, which helps the XV to negotiate rough terrain.

7 SRS Airbags ― front, side, curtain & knee ― now comes standard with both variants to provide peace of mind for the driver and passengers wherever you go.

The All-New Subaru XV is available in a choice of 6 colours: Sunshine Orange, Dark Blue Pearl, Pure White, Ice Silver Metallic, Dark Grey Metallic and Crystal Black Silica. OTR price starts from as low as RM118,819.00, inclusive of GST without insurance.

Editor’s Note:

The above offer gives the Subaru XV the best bang per buck offer for the moment ― we don’t know when it will be withdrawn, but if you are looking for a great vehicle, you should go have a look at this new model.
