All-new Volkswagen Tiguan launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 — The much awaited Volkswagen Tiguan was launched today in the Lake Gardens, Kuala Lumpur today by Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia.

The Tiguan has been VW’s most successful SUV, and to date, more than 2.8 million units have been sold globally. The all-new Tiguan is , as VW puts it, "All Grown Up”, a direct response to early users’ complaints that the previous model was a tad on the small side. Building upon the successes of the first generation Tiguan, the-new Tiguan has re-defined the standards in design, comfort and functionality for SUV’s.

Elsewhere in the world where the Tiguan has been introduced, it has been shortlisted as a finalist for the World Car of the Year 2017 award. Since its global introduction, the Tiguan has also received several accolades, including winning the German Design Awards, 2017, and the Innovation Award under the Prestigious Plus X Award.


Building upon the successes of the first generation Tiguan, the-new Tiguan has re-defined the standards in design, comfort and functionality for SUV’s.

The all-new Tiguan is the perfect balance of style and adventure — it truly is a complete package and together with its competitive pricing, we are confident that the all-new Tiguan will also be well received by the Malaysian market,” said Erik Winter, managing director of VPCM.

The all-new Tiguan is locally assembled in the DRB-Hicom assembly plant in Pekan, Pahang, and is available in two variants, the Trendline, priced at RM148,990, and the Highline, priced at 168,990.
