LONDON, April 4 — Inventor Colin Furze gave an old bumper car a new engine and a bright red coat of paint and turned it into the world’s fastest bumper car, as certified by the Guinness Book of Records.

The overhauled bumper car, with a 600cc sports bike engine at 100 bhp (brake horsepower), was even fit to be driven by car show Top Gear’s The Stig.

The project, sponsored by BBC Worldwide, set the record for world’s fastest bumper car during a run that was certified by a Guinness Book of Records official.

The record-breaking segment appeared in BBC’s Top Gear.

Furze has also invented other vehicles such as a hoverbike, a jet bicycle (yes, you read that right) as well as the world’s fastest mobility scooter.
