New Leaf tickles at Mobile World Congress (VIDEO)

BARCELONA, Feb 22 — Nissan’s latest mobile device was presented at the GSMA Mobile World Congress and it wants you to think it's getting into mobile devices.

Truth be told, it has been for a while, if you can classify a small, affordable electric car as a mobile device, that is.

Unveiled and even unboxed as if it were some sort of mobile phone, the third-generation MY16 Nissan Leaf totes four cameras and a 7-inch colour screen.

Perhaps most importantly, the driving range is significantly increased to 155 miles per charge, up from 107mi on a 2016 model year Leaf with its older version of the 30 KWh battery.

That’s still a fair way off a Tesla’s midrange, 265mi Model S — a car which would be the world’s best-selling plug-in electric, were it not for the Leaf itself — but then, with the compact Leaf costing half as much at retail, they’re not exactly in the same ballpark to begin with. — AFP-Relaxnews
