KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 — The sixth-generation BMW 3 Series, known by its internal codename F30, has been refreshed with a midlife facelift, introducing updated styling and a fully-revamped range of engines that include a revolutionary 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine for the entry-level variant.
The new BMW 3 Series is introduced in four new model variants including the all-new BMW 318i, the BMW 320i, the BMW 320d and the all-new BMW 330i, which can be optioned with the extra-dynamic Sport Line, exclusive and elegant Luxury Line or the extremely athletic M Sport Package. All variants come standard with 8-speed automatic transmissions.
Aesthetic revisions of the new BMW 3 Series begin with newly redesigned headlights, which feature LED headlights as standard and include LED indicators positioned as “eyebrows” above the cluster.

Below the headlights sit the LED fog lights, a standard feature on M Sport-kitted variants of the 320i, 320d, and 330i.
At the rear, the newly redesigned rear lights have also been made into full-LED units, arranged in distinctive BMW “L” shape and is now more heavily curved. The two LED indicators form horizontal bands of light across both sections of the rear lights and provide extremely even and consistent visibility when activated.
The engine options of the new 3 Series start with BMW’s new TwinPower Turbo 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine in the 318i, which delivers a maximum output of 136hp and 220Nm of torque.

Acceleration from zero to 100km/h for this variant is 8.9 seconds. The combined fuel consumption (claimed) of the 318i stands at 5.1 litres per 100km with CO2 emissions of 119g/km.
In the 320i and 330i, BMW premieres an all-new 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol turbo engine. In the 320i, it generates outputs of 184hp, torque of 290Nm and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 7.2 seconds while in the 330i boasts of an output of 252hp and a maximum torque of 350Nm.
Acceleration time is 5.8 seconds from a standstill to 100km/h. The average fuel consumption reading of the 320i and 330i stands at 5.58 litres per 100 km and at 6.1 litres per 100 km respectively. CO2 emissions level meanwhile is at 128 g/km from the 320i and 143 g/km from the 330i.
The new 320d features the latest 4-cylinder diesel engine.
The new 320d, meanwhile, features the latest 4-cylinder diesel engine which delivers an output of 190hp and maximum torque of 400 Nm. It also boasts impressive acceleration power of 7.2 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and has a claimed fuel consumption reading of 4.0 litres per 100 km while C02 emissions stand at 106 g/km.
The new BMW 3 Series will be available in all authorised BMW Dealerships nationwide from the weekend of the November 21 onwards.
