KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 — Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn. Bhd. (ETCM) has officially launched its flagship Nissan 4S Centre in Glenmarie just a week after successfully opening a similarly new 3S Centre in Taiping.

The ceremony was officiated by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, who was accompanied by Datuk Tan Heng Chew, president of Tan Chong Motor Holdings. Nissan was represented by Mr. Kenji Naito, senior vice-president of Nissan Motor Asia Pacific Co. Ltd and ETCM was represented by Datuk Ang Bon Beng, ETCM's executive director.

ETCM’s new full-fledged 4S Centre spans a total built-up area of 165,318 square feet. The building is complete with a showroom, a service and spare parts centre; and a body and paint centre. Additional services provided by the centre include a MUV certified Nissan pre-owned-and-used vehicles office and display area, hire purchase and insurance division, and a vehicle distribution centre.

The outlet’s expansive showroom is able to display up to 15 Nissan vehicles, with 28 Nissan sales professionals who are certified to attend to the needs of customers. Its state-of-the-art service centre is manned by 22 experienced and highly-trained technicians – and with 27 bays, has the capacity to service up to 100 cars per day, averaging 3,000 vehicles in a month. Its body and paint centre, meanwhile, is comprehensively equipped to provide car body repair and alignment, surface preparation and spray painting service.

For customer comfort, this facility is also equipped with a modern lounge and refreshment bar, and while waiting, customers can enjoy WIFI connectivity. For the convenience of customers with children, a Kid’s Corner is available for their entertainment.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ang said, “We stand by our philosophy to provide quality products and services to our customers across our network. Be it at a 1S or a 3S Centre, customer satisfaction comes first from the moment they step through the door. With a total investment of about RM20 million, this new flagship 4S Centre is the epitome of services that we envision to provide to our customers in ETCM and Nissan. Its strategic location – right in the heart of the established automotive industrial hub in Glenmarie makes it extremely convenient and accessible for our customers.”

“In the past 12 months, we have been aggressively upgrading our network and facilities to meet the demands of Nissan owners nationwide. This is crucial, because with the full line-up of Nissan models we have introduced, we are also addressing the needs of a wider range of discerning customers. Additionally, with this new set up, we are offering employment opportunities and expect to hire up to 120 staff at this flagship 4S centre once it is running at full capacity,” added Ang.

To further enhance the facilities in this 4S Centre, ETCM has – for the first time, introduced a unique retail concept which houses a motorsports boutique selling official NISMO and IMPUL parts, and a V-Kool boutique that provide customization options to customers; and a zen lounge for relaxation.

To date, ETCM has an extensive network of 100 showrooms including dealers, and 60 Tan Chong Express Auto Service (TCEAS) Workshops throughout the nation.
