All-new Ford Mustang available in Malaysia from RM435k to RM565k

KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 — Ford has announced the official start of pre-launch bookings for the new Mustang in Malaysia, ahead of its arrival in showrooms nationwide by December. Malaysians can choose between the new turbo-charged, fuel-efficient 2.3-litre EcoBoost fastback, priced at RM435,000-RM450,000, and the classic 5.0-litre V8 fastback for RM550,000-RM565,000.

The 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, with 310hp on tap, was designed specifically for Mustang to meet the needs of a global market requiring an optimum balance between performance and fuel efficiency. The iconic 5.0-litre V8 has an optimised 435 hp engine is for the ‘hard core’ Mustang lovers. Both engines are mated to six-speed automatic transmissions, while drive remains the traditional rear wheel drive.

“This 2.3-litre EcoBoost fastback is a perfect fit for Malaysia, because it delivers the legendary power and performance that a Mustang driver expects, while addressing today’s demands for exceptional fuel efficiency, and all with head-turning style,” said Veemala Rethinasamy, sales and marketing director, Malaysia, Ford Motor Company.

 Both Mustang variants are available in five eye-catching colours — Oxford White, Shadow Black, Deep Impact Blue, Magnetic Grey and Race Red. A special Triple Yellow Tri-Coat colour is also available for the 5.0-litre V8 variant. “The new Mustang builds on its unmistakable heritage — and it’s quicker, better-looking, more refined and more efficient, without losing any of the raw appeal that people have loved about Mustang for half a century,” said Veemala.

Built at Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant in the United States, the new sixth-generation Mustang is built on an all-new global platform that includes among other things, a steering calibrated to offer greater precision and feel along with, for the first time in a Mustang, independent rear suspension for far superior ride and handling that previous models. It is also the first ever time that the Mustang is built with right-hand drive variants coming from the factory.
