Kuala Lumpur, April 25 — TC Euro Cars Sdn Bhd (TCEC), official franchise holder for Renault vehicles in Malaysia, has introduced an updated version of the Renault Fluence, a spacious C-segment sedan widely praised for its excellent value for money preposition.
Whilst the previous Renault Fluence had the same front mask as the Samsung, the new upgrade now has the same ‘Renault’ face as the Fluence sold in other parts of the Renault world.
Enhanced by new updates, the Fluence now adds good looks to its repertoire whilst retaining its existing selling points of offering unbeatable value by giving a generous amount of equipment and worry-free aftersales service.
“The changes featured on the new Renault Fluence are perfectly in line with the needs of Malaysian customers who appreciate style and substance wrapped in very competitive package,” notes Kuan Kim Luen, chief executive officer of TCEC.
The Fluence’s updated styling brings it in line with the current-generation Renault family look already adorning the Clio, Megane, and Koleos. Its front end sports a vertically-set logo at the centre of a broad black strip picked out by chrome beading.
Meanwhile, the upper of two variants is further distinguished by LED daytime running lights and chrome/gloss black inserts.
Inside, the Fluence features a major innovation in the form of the Renault R-Link multimedia system with touchscreen display and voice command.
Renault R-Link incorporates the navigation system, Bluetooth telephony function and can also be connected to portable music players via USB and aux jack sockets.
Powering the Fluence is the proven Renault-Nissan Alliance-developed 2.0-litre petrol engine seen in a number of Nissan models including the Sylphy, Teana, and X-Trail.

It supplies the front wheels with 143hp and 195Nm through its familiar partner, the X-Tronic CVT.
The Fluence is available in two variants, starting with the entry-level Expression model at RM108,888 offering impressive levels of standard equipment such as six airbags, electronic stability programme, keyless access card, dual-zone automatic air-con with rear vents, reverse camera, cruise control with speed limiter, automatic headlights, and automatic wipers.
A higher-specification Dynamique model is available at RM119,888, and for the RM11,000 premium, extras on offer include full leather seats, daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, and 17-inch Akihiro two-tone alloy wheels.
Most crucially, perhaps, is that the Dynamique model price also includes a five-year free maintenance package, although both variants are covered by a five-year manufacturer’s warranty from Renault.
