KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 — For the first time in Malaysian history, you can come and experience the world of BMW at the BMW World Malaysia, a three day exhibition this weekend at the Kiara Equestrian Arena at Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur.

During press day today, a total of six new vehicles were introduced. Visitors to the exhibition will also get to see some interesting concept vehicles for the first time in Asia.

During the opening ceremony, Alan Harris, Managing Director and CEO of BMW Group Malaysia said, “We at BMW have always believed in creating an all-round unforgettable experience for our customers, and we wanted to do so through a space which communicates the heart of the brands we carry. We hope that with the BMW World Malaysia, our valued customers will enjoy a brand experience that is unlike any other.”

Open to the public from today till Sunday, the BMW World Malaysia will feature the largest display of premium automobiles represented by the BMW Group, which includes the introduction of the all-new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, the new BMW X6 and for the first time in Malaysia, BMWi with the all-new BMW i8.

For MINI, the BMW World Malaysia will introduce the new MINI John Cooper Works, the new MINI Cooper 5-Door and the new locally-assembled MINI Cooper Countryman.

For BMW Motorrad, BMW World Malaysia introduces new motorcycles in the form of the BMW S 1000 RR and the new BMW R 1200 R. The event will also showcase the pioneering innovations of the BMW Group in both design and technology with the first ever premiere of the BMW 328 Hommage in Asia as well as the BMW Concept Roadster motorcycle for the first time in Malaysia.

Harris added that the opening of the BMW World in Malaysia sets an unprecedented standard in the Malaysian automotive industry and will further solidify the company’s position as the leading premium car brand in the country.

“In the first three months of 2015, we at BMW Group Malaysia delivered a total of 1,729 BMW, MINI and Motorrad vehicles. This performance is in tandem with what we have observed in the Malaysian auto industry due to over speculation on pricing post GST. As we now progress further into 2015, we hope that car buyers have a much clearer conscience when deciding on their new BMW, MINI or Motorrad,” said Harris.

BMW Group Malaysia also announced that the premium automaker is revising the prices of all its BMW and MINI vehicles lower by up to 1.9 per cent as well as BMW Motorrad to be lower by up to 18 per cent to transfer the benefits gained from the implementation of the GST to its customers.
