KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 — UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd has added a new G-Variant to its Corolla Altis line-up, with the addition of new features, as a result of customers’ requests.

The current Altis available in Malaysia is the 11th generation Toyota Corolla, launched in January 2014. This brings the total number of variants to four, and prices are as follows:

TOYOTA COROLLA ALTIS 2.0V with Additional Safety Package: RM139,915.30

TOYOTA COROLLA ALTIS 2.0V: RM136,015.30

TOYOTA COROLLA ALTIS 1.8G (new variant): RM119,900.00

TOYOTA COROLLA ALTIS 1.8E: RM115,900.00

The Corolla Altis 1.8G, as the model description suggests, comes equipped with a 1.8 litre Dual VVTi engine and a 7-speed CVT, which is identical in specifications to the 1.8E. The 1.8G gets Smart Entry and Start System that allows keyless entry and keyless start; in addition, the instrument panel has been upgraded with Optitron meters, originally developed for Lexus luxury models. The instrument cluster now incorporates a Multi-Information Display, which allows monitoring of driving information.

The 1.8G also gets combination leather upholstery, and illuminated cup-holders for the front and front foot-well lights. The infotainment system gets a 2Din head unit, a DVD player with a 7-inch display that also doubles as a screen for a reverse camera. Blue tooth connectivity, voice command and a SD card insert is also included.

An auto headlight system completes the upgrade.

With the introduction of the 1.8G, the 2.0G is discontinued.
