PETALING JAYA, April 28 — Volkswagen Group Malaysia, a unit of Volkswagen AG, targets to sell 3,300 units of its newly-launched locally assembled Jetta this year.
Volkswagen Malaysia Strategy and Planning Director Robert McAllister said the company expected the model to contribute 15 per cent to its overall car sales target of 23,000 units this year.
“The target is driven by attractive price offered by Volkswagen and the model specification. We are confident of achieving the figure,” he told reporters after launching the new Volkswagen Jetta here today.
Previously, the completely built up (CBU) Jetta is sold at RM151,188.
Jetta, a mid-size sedan, is Volkswagen’s fourth completely knocked down (CKD) model after Passat, Polo Sedan and Polo 1.6, which is locally assembled at the DRB-HICOM factory in Pekan, Pahang.
The newly-launched Jetta, priced at RM130,888, is available in four colours — Candy White, Platinum Grey, Reflex Silver and Deep Black. — Bernama
