MALACCA, January 20 ― Proton has introduced a new variant of the Proton Suprima S that offers a body kit for the hatchback.  Now, buyers of the Suprima S can opt for the new variant that comes in two special colours, Fire Red and Solid White. The official name for this variant is Proton Suprima S Super Premium, and at RM87, 929.50 is the highest-priced Proton available.

The launch was officiated by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, Dato’ Lukman Ibrahim at the PROTON Sales Carnival held at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC).

According to Dato’ Lukman, “The Proton Suprima S Super Premium is PROTON’s most comprehensively equipped model in terms of performance, styling, safety, driving dynamics and sophistication. The new variant will open up the Suprima S model to a specific market segment that would cater to customers who give priority to car specifications.”

The Proton Suprima S Super Premium is built on the standard Suprima S, with 17-inch lightweight R3 rims, R3 body kit with a re-tuned rear bumper finishing, and front and side skirt, as well as the R3 Emblem on its side skirt. The engine and transmission remain the same as the standard Suprima S.

Speaking at the launch, Dato’ Lukman reiterated, “The Proton Suprima S has been awarded with a 5-Star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), joining the ranks of many other international renowned models as a car that is recommended by ANCAP to be purchased by consumers attributed to its high standard of safety.”

“The Hot Press Forming (HPF) technology in the Suprima S, that provides better protection and higher body as well as structural rigidity without compromising the overall car bodyweight, as well as other safety features like the 6 airbags, Hill-Hold Assist, ESC with brake assist, Traction control and ABS brakes with EBD had allowed it to achieve the highest internationally recognised standards in all of its test categories, which is a prerequisite to obtain the highest award rating given by ANCAP,” he added.

The launch of the Suprima S Super Premium was the highlight of the PROTON Sales Carnival event held from 17-19 January 2014. The Sales Carnival provided a unique opportunity for the public to test drive PROTON cars and to purchase them at attractive discounts as well as visit the display of Proton’s safety technology.
