Claudia Schiffer to star in Opel ads in Europe

PARIS, Dec 24 — The German car maker has enlisted Claudia Schiffer as its latest brand ambassador. From January 2014, the supermodel will be seen in TV advertisements as part of Opel’s “It’s a German” campaign for the Opel Meriva crossover and Mokka minivan.

The “It’s a German” TV ads will be aired across all European countries, with the notable exceptions of Germany and the United Kingdom. Claudia Schiffer will be seen highlighting examples of German engineering and technology, including the Meriva’s rear-hinged doors and the Mokka’s all-wheel drive transmission.

Opel Chief Marketing Officer Tina Müller explains the brand’s choice of the German supermodel: “The campaign puts across those modern German values that have also been appreciated internationally ... With Claudia Schiffer we were able to win a German world star who fully identifies with the brand.”
