BMW Group Malaysia unveils new locally assembled diesel-powered SAV

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 — BMW Group Malaysia today introduced two new locally assembled diesel-powered variants of the new highly premium sports activity vehicles (SAV); BMW X1 and BMW X3.

The cars were assembled at BWM’s assembly plant in Kulim, Kedah.

Chief Executive Officer Gerhard Pils said BWM was confident that its wider engine portfolios could optimise its supply to customers throughout the country without any delays while offering greater product choices.

“The introduction of the locally assembled diesel variants of the new BMW X models have signified our strong commitment in bulding more cars here in Malaysia,” he said in a statement today.

BMW said the new BMW X’s had proven to be unique members of the SAV segments which integrates form, function and style into one dynamic package.

“With the addition of the new advanced diesel variants, BWM X1 and X3, they are now set to deliver even better offerings in terms of fuel efficiency,” added the German car manufacturer. — Bernama
