Bruce Willis' 'Once Upon a Time in Venice' sets summer release date

LOS ANGELES, April 5 — Bruce Willis’ action-comedy Once Upon a Time in Venice has settled on a June 16 release date in theaters and VOD, following the acquisition of its US rights by LJ Entertainment.

The film, starring Willis and directed by Mark Cullen from a script penned by Cullen and his brother Robb, follows the story of Venice Beach P.I. Steve Ford (Willis), who becomes embroiled in an investigative mission after his beloved dog Buddy is stolen by some local thugs.

John Goodman, Thomas Middleditch, Jason Momoa, Famke Janssen, Adam Goldberg and Kal Penn round out the cast, with Voltage Pictures chief Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker), Zev Foreman (Dallas Buyers Club), Laura Ford, and the Cullen brothers to produce.

Jonathan Deckter and Stephen J. Eads are attached to executive produce the feature.

This movie marks the second collaboration between Willis and the Cullen brothers.
