Jimmy Fallon, Gabrielle Union put a spin to school announcements (VIDEO)

LOS ANGELES, Oct 14 — Remember how boring school announcements used to be?

Well, this clip will make you wish you did have Jimmy Fallon was your school principal.  “Being Mary Jane” star Gabrielle Union stopped by the sets of “The Tonight Show” and teamed up with Fallon to give us their take on what school announcements would sound like.

Both Union and Fallon got into character and put on midwestern accents and appropriate school attire for the recurring segment titled “Musical Morning Announcements”.

At Saugerties High School, principal Davidson (Fallon) and vice-principal Cook (Union) don’t just read school news, each new announcement comes with a spin on a popular song.

To the tune of the Weeknd‘s “Can’t Feel My Face,” vice-principal Cook gleefully sang, “You can’t use your Facebook at this school — ’cause we blocked it!” to inform the students that mobile phone reception has been cut off school-wide.

One of the best moments was Union’s take on Rihanna’s new song “BBHMM”. The actress singled out a student named Mitchell who owed money for a field trip, then got up and sang: “Mitch better have my money.”
