LOS ANGELES, Aug 13 — Rob Lowe will provide the voice to Simba while Gabrielle Union takes on Nala in Disney’s “Lion King” movie, set to premiere in November on the Disney Channel.
“Return of the Roar” will follow the exploits of Simba and Nala’s second-born cub Kion as he leads the Lion Guard, a group of animals tasked with protecting and preserving the Pride Lands. The movie is to be followed by a TV series on the Disney Channel, entitled “The Lion Guard.”
Other actors playing the voices in “Return of the Roar” include Joshua Rush as Bunga the honey badger, Diamond White as the cheetah Fuli and Dusan Brown as Beshte the hippo. Sarah Hyland (“Modern Family”) also makes an appearance in the movie. Atticus Shaffer stars as an egret, and James Earl Jones and Ernie Sabella take up their “Lion King” roles of Mufasa and Pumbaa again. — AFP-Relaxnews
