Youth goes missing after visiting ‘haunted’ house in Johor

JOHOR BARU, Nov 18 — A teenager has been reported missing after visiting an abandoned house, which some locals believe to be haunted, in Jalan Skudai here, near the Lido Beach.

Mohamad Izzat Izzudin Husin, 16, was said to have entered the 40-year-old house known as ‘Villa Nabila’ last Saturday, and has not returned to the family home in Kampung Hajah Hasnah, Majidee here.

His mother, Norhayati Mohamad, 38, has lodged a report at the Danga Bay police station.

South Johor Baharu police chief Supt Abdul Samad Salleh said one of Mohamad Izzat’s friends had told the missing teenager’s mother that he had gone to visit ‘Villa Nabila’.

However, when the mother went to the house to look for Mohamad Izzat, he was nowhere to be seen, he said, adding that a team comprising policemen, firemen and a tracker dog unit was deployed to locate the missing teenager.

He said the case was classified as ‘missing person’.

‘Villa Nabila’ comprises three abandoned buildings and according to some locals, was reportedly haunted.

One of the youths who entered the villa, Megat Irfan Abdullah Shariman, 16, claimed that several of his friends became hysterical about 20 minutes after entering the building yesterday. — Bernama
