MASWings plane to be removed from crash site soon, says airline

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — MASWings’ Twin Otter DHC6 9M-MDM MH3002, involved in an accident within the vicinity of Kudat Airport yesterday, will be removed from the crash site as soon as clearance is obtained from the respective investigative authorities.

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) in a statement here today said its Go Team, comprising care-givers and support staff from Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu, was working round the clock to ensure smooth transition at the crash site and  hospitals.

Flight operations of Malaysia Airlines, MASwings and its subsidiaries are as per schedule.

“We shall be advising the travelling public of any changes to our schedules. With immediate effect, all enquiries with regard to this accident may be directed to Malaysia Airlines’ toll-free 1-300-88-3000,” it stated.

The statement said Malaysia Airlines deeply regretted the unfortunate incident and was committed to providing assistance to all affected parties in every possible way. — Bernama
