KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 — A car said to be ferrying the eldest son of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Mohd Nizar Najib, was seen entering the premises of his father’s home in Taman Duta this afternoon.
The heavily-tinted MPV with the number plate CDR 11 rolled in at around 2pm and left an hour later.
Several other heavily-tinted cars believed to be carrying more lawyers hired by Najib were also seen entering the street, which is under heavy police guard.
Police also allowed two men, said to be locksmiths, into Najib’s house compound at around 2.30pm.
At around 3.30pm, two men, who identified themselves as Najib’s lawyers, were seen walking into the compound, telling reporters “we need to find out more” but did not elaborate.
Najib’s home has been under police lockdown for the last 18 hours.
Local police are reinvestigating sovereign investment fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), the brainchild of Najib, for alleged fund misappropriation.
