KOTA BELUD, April 14 ― Yayasan Usaha Maju (YUM) is capable of alleviating poverty in the state, according to Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak.

He said the role of YUM was to provide appropriate financing for the target group in their business and entrepreneurial endeavour aimed at improving their standard of living. YUM also provides guidance and training to its programme participants based on their skill and potential.

“YUM is able to do this because it has access to various financial resources from the government, private sector and corporate sector,” he said while launching the Kota Belud branch YUM Members Family Day here today.

Salleh also noted the success of YUM members in Kota Belud in various economic activities.

“Your determination and courage in venturing into business and entrepreneurship is a commendable effort especially in the context of increasing the participation of bumiputeras in both fields,” he added. ― Bernama
